LASK and backaldrin
A YEAR IN REVIEW BEYOND THE EDGE OF THE FIELD
The 2024/25 season ended on 1 June 2025, and LASK fought until the very end for the last spot in the UEFA Conference League. From a sporting perspective, it was a season of highs and lows, but some moments off the pitch also remain memorable.

Sport
Three tournaments, three lessons: This is how LASK’s sporting situation in the last season can be summed up. After a mixed start to the season, the athletes were able to secure a comfortable starting position in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga, before missing out on the championship group after being defeated by the reigning champions Sturm Graz at the end of the regular season. In the qualification group, LASK dominated its opponents, and then clearly prevailed against Hartberg in the play-offs. However, in the final two matches against Rapid Vienna, interim coach Maximilian Ritscher’s team had to bid their European Cup dream farewell for the coming season after conceding a last-minute goal.
LASK suffered a similar fate in the UNIQA ÖFB Cup, where, after seemingly obligatory victories in the first three rounds, they faced a well-known opponent for the first time in the round of 16 when they played against RB Salzburg. After a 2-1 victory at home in the Raiffeisen Arena, the dream of reaching the final was high, but this was shattered in the penalty shootout against Wolfsberger AC. Despite the bitter defeat, reaching the semi-finals is an outstanding achievement that the team can be proud of. Unfortunately, there was nothing to be gained in the UEFA Conference League this season. In mostly close matches, LASK often did not have luck on their side. What remains are the experiences that the Linz team were able to gain.
Partnerships
LASK’s Partner Day on 20 May 2025 was an absolute highlight. Around 350 invited guests witnessed a unique fashion show and presentation of the new LASK jerseys for the 2025/26 season. Accompanied by the impressive vocal performances of the renowned St. Florian Boys’ Choir, the new jerseys were unveiled at exactly 9 p.m. The home jersey is traditionally black and white, while LASK returns to a striking red and black design for its away kit. The third jersey remained pink to support the BWT campaign, which promotes access to clean drinking water worldwide. The chest sponsor also remained the same on all three jerseys: the backaldrin Kornspitz logo stays on the chest of the black and white team.
Social
Another highlight was the first-ever cup donation campaign for the Upper Austrian Children’s Cancer Aid, which backaldrin launched together with LASK. Visitors to the Raiffeisen Arena could drop their cups into a donation box during LASK home games. 100 percent of the net proceeds will go to the Children’s Cancer Aid. A total of over 10,000 cups were donated at the home games.
“We are overwhelmed by the tremendous response we received for the cup donation campaign. With this campaign, LASK fans have proven that together we can achieve great things. We would like to thank everyone involved."
Wolfgang Mayer, Managing Director of backaldrin
