backaldrin Expands Production in Jordan
Asten (Austria), Amman (Jordan), August 12, 2009 -- backaldrin, an international leading producer of baking ingredients and inventor of the Kornspitz grain roll, announces a further expansion of its factory in the Jordanian capital of Amman. The family-owned company is doubling its production and storage capacities, investing a total of EUR 2 million. The additional facilities will be put into operation in early 2010.
backaldrin has been operating on the Jordanian market since 1996. In addition to the corporate headquarters in Asten, Austria, a second production facility was opened in the capital city of Amman in the year 2006. The Jordanian site is responsible for supplying baking ingredients to more than 20 countries in the Arab World and in Africa. "Bakers in Cameroon and Mauritius have only been our customers for a few weeks now," according to backaldrin owner Peter Augendopler and Mahmoud Khader, Vice President of backaldrin Jordan, commenting on the company’s positive business development in the region. The growth in backaldrin’s customer base and the planned expansion of the market position in these countries make it necessary to upgrade the Jordanian plant. By early 2010, the family-owned company aims to achieve a two-fold increase in output by putting an additional production line into operation. Moreover, the construction of a new hall will serve to more than double the existing storage space. backaldrin will invest a total of EUR 2 million in the expanded facilities located in Jordanian’s capital.
